I'M IN...AGAIN - SEMI-FINALIST AMAZON BREAKTHROUGH NOVEL AWARD CONTEST

The news came yesterday as I was at the public library. I had an Art Club meeting and so I had to stay in town after work. I decided to go use the computers at the library to check my email until my meeting time. The computers require a deposit of two quarters which allows you about 15 minutes time. I just kept plugging in those quarters and switching back and fort from email to abna discussion boards. At 6:49pm the email from Amazon came through. I was so scared to read it and went first to the boards to let my fellow writers know I got an email and then the screen went blank! My time was up and naturally I didn't have any more quarters, so I dug frantically through my purse to locate a bill to put in the change machine. All I had was a five and so I ran to the change machine...shaking and crying. The poor kids who were using the computers around me must have thought I was nuts! My hands were shaking so much I had a hard time putting the bill into the machine slot. As the quarters tumbled out into the tray, I snatched them up and ran back to my computer and inserted two into the slot. The screen reappeared and I took a deep breath and said a quick prayer and opened the email. I am in! I am in the next level of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest. There are 836 excerpts on the sight. My direct link is: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00124C008 . Please go to the site and read my excerpt from "The Scrapbook" and post your review. Here are some hints form Amazon on what makes a good review:

What Makes A Good Review? In the semifinalist round, we're breaking new ground in our customer reviewing community: this is the first opportunity for customers to play an active role in the publishing process. The criteria for judging an unpublished book are a little bit different from the norm. Keep these pointers in mind as you're reading and remember: your voice counts.
1.Be persuasive. Experts at Penguin will be relying on customer reviews as they prepare to select the finalists, so don't hesitate to tell us what you really think. The reviews that provide the most thorough, thoughtful feedback are the ones that will help Penguin choose the Top Ten.

2.Quantity and quality help. The more reviews you write, and the more helpful each review is, the more likely you are to win one of our three prize packages.

3.Discuss. As with customer reviews for all our products, you can comment on others' excerpt reviews and rate them. Any discussion and activity we see around specific titles will only keep us coming back for more, so feel free to speak up and banter with your peers.

One quick heads-up: Per the contest rules, every excerpt is a maximum of 5,000 words in length. As a result, you may find that excerpts vary in length or end unexpectedly. Consider yourself warned--and happy reading!

I am sooooooooooooooooo excited! Thank you so much for your support!
